So now I can relax and feel confident that my monitor is calibrated and my prints will look perfect! Overall, the ColorMunki Display was super easy to use, reasonably priced, and I cannot think of any features that were lacking. It’s imperative that my monitor is calibrated and matches my prints, otherwise all my time spent editing is really a waste. This tool is a genuinely easy, user-friendly, and affordable way to make sure your monitor is always calibrated. So useful for photographers who use a projector to show galleries during in-person sales meetings. Another neat thing about the ColorMunki Display is that you can even use it to calibrate a projector. Another cool feature is you can set it to monitor the ambient lighting near your computer and update your screen to account for the available light. This is useful because unfortunately monitors do change over time, so I set mine up to remind me to calibrate every four weeks. Another great feature is that you can set the software to remind you to re-calibrate at certain intervals. The before-and-after feature at the end was really nice, because it showed me how it changed the appearance of my screen and how it made my monitor brighter and my colors more accurate. It then calibrated my monitor and changed my monitor settings for me, so I didn’t have to do a thing or dig through any monitor settings myself. The program showed me exactly where and how to place the device on my screen. It was super easy for me and the whole process took less than 10 minutes. There were options for “easy” or “advanced” and I selected “easy” and let the wizard guide me through the entire calibration process. I popped the software CD in and installed it, and started up the wizard. I was worried it would take a lot of time and possibly be confusing, but I was so wrong! The ColorMunki Display includes a software CD, the calibration device, and a simple user manual. The ColorMunki Display is designed for monitor, projector and mobile device colour calibration. One reason I had been putting it off is that it seems like a complicated task. The ColorMunki Display sits in the middle of X-Rite’s trio of ColorMunki colorimeters, providing more control and versatility than the entry-level ColorMunki Smile, but without the printer profiling capabilities of the ColorMunki Photo. I recently used the X-Rite ColorMunki Display to calibrate my monitor and my first impression was that it was SO easy to use! I got this new monitor fairly recently and the color seemed really good so I had slacked on calibrating it until now, which I know is a major mistake! Calibrating your monitor is incredibly important to ensure prints and products will match what you see on your screen. Still, for the novice user performing occasional calibrations, it's pretty much spot on, colour casts will be banished and all your future image adjustments accurate and worthwhile.CLICK PROS TEST THE LATEST PRODUCT INTRODUCTIONS.įeatured Product: X-Rite ColorMunki Display The X-Rite Colormunki display will set you back £199 and retails in the US for $189 ($229.95 in Australia). The only minor niggle is that although it works in much the same way as the i1 Display Pro device, it's considerably slower (but you should bear in mind that it's around £50 cheaper too). Overall, there's very little not to like: the results appear accurate and no obvious colour biases can be observed, and reminders can be set up should the lighting conditions change or if a large period of time elapses between calibrations. The advanced controls enable you to measure flare from your display and to take this into account, along with white point specification and other options. Approximate timings are given throughout the process, and once complete it's possible to view before and after comparisons using a range of images. The software takes around two minutes to adjust the display's luminance using a series of patches, before the remainder are displayed and measured over an additional five minutes.
