There is also a hole on the rear for the camera. The power and volume buttons are covered by the case but there is a small hole to provide access to the silence toggle. All ports and features are easily accessible with gaps at both the top and the bottom. This is a £50 case but it actually looks like a £50 case. I won’t lie - the first temptation to review this case arose from its stunning, sleek appearance, not its functionality. The Shell Case is a thin polycarbonate snap on case finished in tanned Italian leather and it oozes quality. Nodus is a transportation network modeling software especially designed for multimodal and intermodal freight transport. Enter the Nodus Shell case for the iPhone 6s. The Yellow is for those a little more daring but the textured finish is lovely. Our favourite is the Chestnut Brown but our partner loves the Ebony Black and ultimately, both are beautiful. It should be a smidge cheaper, but if you’re in the market for a sharp iPhone case, it’s worth a spot on your shortlist. None of that stops the Shell Case from feeling high-end, though. And once again, the speakers and 3.5mm jack are left exposed. The cutout over the mute switch is off-center, leaving it overly recessed and a bit too far to the right. The leather is a bit stiff out of the box, so you’ll have to flex it a bit before installing the phone and pressing the covered buttons feels totally comfortable. According to Nodus, theres also magnetic shielding included in the case to protect the iPhone from magnetic damage. The Nodus Shell Case II is crafted from vegetable-tanned Italian leather, and its ultra-slim contours are ideal if you like to stow your iPhone in your pocket. (Also, for the record, I didn’t notice any issues with the magnet affecting signal strength.) This does work, and it’s convenient, but you’ll still need to avoid tossing it on there haphazardly. Inside the Shell Case is a tiny, hardly recognizable (from the outside) magnet, which can paired with other small, external magnets Nodus calls “Micro Docks.” The idea is to mount a Nodus-clad iPhone wherever you need it - pop the included dock on your car dashboard, for instance, and you’ll have a spot for your GPS. There’s some bonus functionality here, too. The microfiber material on its interior keeps the iPhone’s back from scuffing up while it’s in there. It puts a slight lip over the front, and it fully covers up the power and volume buttons. While a case like this is more luxurious than practical, the Shell Case does provide a little more protection than the Woodline. You’ll see the light marks left by past scratches. It’s still leather, though, so know that it’ll develop character over time. I’m not a fan of the semi-prominent octopus logo plastered on its back, but in general it comes off as refined and professional. Like most cases aimed at being aesthetically pleasing, it isn’t particularly protective, but it does the basics, and it feels fantastic in the hand.
